One of the most dangerous Divine Trees introduced in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex was Mamushi, the Human God Tree born from Bug after the evolution of the Ten-Tails. Unlike other Shinju, Mamushi possessed a terrifying ability that allowed him to divide endlessly while retaining his full strength and chakra. His power quickly turned him into a major threat to Konohagakure, forcing the Hidden Leaf to come up with an unconventional strategy to stop him.
Mamushi launched his attack on Konoha with a singular goal: finding and devouring Ada. Using his ability to erase his chakra signature, he infiltrated the village undetected and began creating copies of himself to speed up the search.
Unlike traditional Shadow Clones, Mamushi’s replicas did not become weaker after dividing. Every clone retained the same physical power and chakra reserves as the original, making the Divine Tree’s army a nightmare to deal with. Even Boruto was initially forced onto the defensive as the number of Mamushi clones continued to increase.
As the battle spread across the village, Boruto, Kawaki, Himawari, Team 10, and other Konoha shinobi worked together to prevent the clones from overwhelming the population.
Why Mamushi’s Clones Were So Dangerous

Mamushi’s self-replication ability was one of the most broken powers seen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. He could create dozens, then hundreds, of copies without suffering any noticeable loss of strength.
However, fans noticed an interesting trend during the battle. While Mamushi had initially demonstrated power capable of pressuring Boruto, later chapters showed characters such as Himawari and Chocho successfully fighting back against the clones.
Some readers criticized the apparent power scaling, while others pointed to an important explanation introduced in the story: the more Mamushi divided, the more his intelligence seemed to deteriorate. Although the clones maintained their raw power, their reduced coordination and decision-making abilities made them easier to defeat individually.
Even so, brute force alone wasn’t enough to stop the rapidly growing swarm.
Inojin Discovers Mamushi’s Greatest Weakness

The battle changed completely when Kashin Koji and Amado uncovered a crucial weakness in Mamushi’s ability.
Despite having countless bodies, all of Mamushi’s clones shared a single collective consciousness. In other words, every clone was connected through a hive mind.
Recognizing an opportunity, Inojin Yamanaka used his clan’s Mind Transfer Jutsu on one of the clones. Because every Mamushi shared the same consciousness, taking control of one clone effectively allowed Inojin to control all of them at once.
Within moments, the entire swarm was frozen in place.
However, immobilizing Mamushi was only the first step.
Daemon’s Reflection Ability Turns the Tide

Kashin Koji had already identified another weakness. Mamushi’s eyes were the key to his replication ability. Destroying them would prevent him from creating any more clones.
To accomplish this, Inojin and Daemon executed one of the smartest strategies in the series.
While controlling the hive mind, Inojin directed a powerful killing intent toward Daemon. Normally, this would have been dangerous, but Daemon’s unique ability automatically reflects hostile intent back at the attacker.
The instant the attack targeted Daemon, his reflection ability activated.
Because Inojin was connected to the entire Mamushi network through the hive mind, the reflected force traveled through every clone simultaneously.
How Mamushi Was Finally Defeated in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
The reflected attack instantly destroyed the eyes of every Mamushi clone.
Without the eyes necessary to sustain his replication ability, the Divine Tree’s entire army collapsed. The countless bodies began disintegrating across the battlefield, bringing an end to one of Konoha’s biggest threats.
The process also resulted in the creation of Mamushi’s Thorn Soul Bulb, which Boruto later intended to use to restore Bug.
Unfortunately, subsequent events prevented that plan from succeeding, leading to Mamushi’s permanent demise.
What Mamushi’s Defeat Means for the Future
Mamushi’s downfall stands out as one of the most strategic victories in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Rather than relying on overwhelming power, Konoha defeated a seemingly unstoppable enemy through intelligence, teamwork, and careful planning.
Kashin Koji identified the weaknesses, Inojin exploited the hive mind, and Daemon delivered the finishing blow through his reflection ability. Together, they accomplished what brute force could not.
As the battle against the Shinju continues, Mamushi’s defeat proves an important lesson: even the strongest Divine Trees have weaknesses, and finding them may be the key to humanity’s survival in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
