The chapter begins with Loid recovering in the hospital. Despite reminding himself that he is Twilight, Westalis\u2019 greatest spy, his injured condition prevents him from responding to Fiona\u2019s summons. The nurses insist that he remain in his room, leaving Fiona and Anya to continue the investigation without him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiona learns that Donovan has arrived with former hospital director Surjay, who suggests that Donovan may have come to say goodbye to Chapman. Donovan acknowledges the debt he owes his predecessor, immediately raising questions about their shared history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unable to enter the room directly, Fiona decides to listen in from a nearby location. She installs a listening device near the restroom window, but the conversation is too faint to understand clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anya, meanwhile, has followed Fiona to the hospital. After hearing Fiona\u2019s thoughts, she discovers Donovan\u2019s location and attempts several ways to get closer to him. She even disguises herself as another young patient and repeatedly throws a marble toward Donovan\u2019s bodyguard, only for the highly capable guard to catch it every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anya eventually decides to imitate Fiona\u2019s strategy and uses her telepathy from the floor above Donovan\u2019s room. However, she initially struggles because she does not know Donovan\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pushing her ability to its limits, Anya finally identifies the person who feels like Damian\u2019s father. What she hears surprises her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
